Entry from €30, and the confusing part is that the grounds are free and the buildings are not: the standard circuit covers St Vitus, the Old Royal Palace, St George's and Golden Lane. Go up in the late afternoon when the coach groups have gone and the cathedral light is worth the climb. The changing of the guard at noon is the busiest hour of the day.
The clock face costs nothing to watch and the tower above it is ticketed from €30. The hourly show is ninety seconds long and mildly disappointing, which everyone tells you and everyone still watches; the tower view over the square is the part that justifies a ticket.
A single ticket covers the synagogues and the old cemetery, and this is the one place in Prague where a guide changes the visit rather than decorating it — the Pinkas Synagogue walls and the cemetery need the context. Closed on Saturdays and Jewish holidays.

Prague is the cheapest city on this site. A river cruise starts at €14 with a €49 median, museum and monument entry at €12 with a €24 median, and a beer-and-food walk at €24 — figures that would buy an entry ticket alone in Paris. Food tours run to a €92 median from €25. Day trips are the real spend at a €110 median: Bohemian Switzerland from €74 and Český Krumlov from €85 are both full days with two to three hours on the road.

Almost nothing in Prague sells out, which is the honest answer and unusual on this site. The exceptions are small-group Bohemian Switzerland trips in summer, which fill about a week ahead because the good operators cap at fifteen, and river cruises on the two or three warm evenings a week in shoulder season. Castle and Jewish Quarter tickets can be bought on the day for most of the year. Weekends bring stag parties to the old town; weekdays do not.
